Asentria data buffers reliably collect PBX ASCII data, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call accounting professionals recognize Asentria data buffers for leading the industry in reliability and technical performance. Since 1984 we have introduced many key innovations in data buffer technology and have earned several prestigious industry awards. That's why a majority of leading Call Accounting and Telemanagement vendors choose Asentria data buffers as their preferred solution for CDR/SMDR data collection and polling.
Asentria manufactures a number of different data buffer products designed for both small and large, simple and complex applications. Which model is right for your application will depend on the combination of features and options you need. All these models collect and store serial data such as CDR records. Some models offer modem or Ethernet connectivity, and more or less storage memory. Additional features that may be relevant to your application are discussed further down this page and include:

IP-based CDR collection
Many newer PBXs have networking
ports which allow transmission of CDR records over TCP/IP. Despite this improved
connectivity, there are still many reasons why using a buffer device is important for
reliable data collection from Ethernet-enabled PBXs. The Data-Link DL150 supports
IP record collection from Avaya, Cisco, Mitel, Alcatel and other popular PBXs.
For more information see our
white paper on the value of using a CDR buffer with Ethernet-enabled PBXs.

FTP Push/Pull
All Asentria CDR buffers with
Ethernet capabilities support FTP Push and FTP Pull. FTP Push is an ideal
way to collect CDR data, because it eliminates the need for a polling computer.
Just set up an FTP server accessible to the CDR buffer and schedule the buffer to
push the data to the server every 30 minutes or so. (back to top)
Push Data Across the Internet
Eliminate
long-distance polling charges by pushing data to your FTP server via the internet.
If you don't have access to the Internet you can still push data to your FTP server
by using PPP features to have the buffer dial-out to the local ISP. (back

Encrypted Data Transfers
Whether inside or outside
your network, sometimes security concerns can warrant encrypting the CDR records
you transmit over the network. Asentria products support encrypted
FTP data transfers. (back to top)
Real-Time Data Transfers
Some applications
(such as monitoring for 911 calls) require a 'close-to-real-time' transmission of
CDR data. In this case, Asentria products support real-time sockets
for transmitting records to your collection system in real-time.

Toll-Fraud, 911, PBX Alarms
Besides buffering
CDR records, several Asentria buffer products can monitor incoming serial data
for alarm indications such as Toll-Fraud, 911 calls, or PBX Alarms. In the Product Selection Wizard below
you will need to indicate if you need to monitor serial, and your application is
simple or robust. (back to top)
Advanced Alarm Monitoring Features
In addition
to serial alarm monitoring, the DL150 offers advanced alarm monitoring features
such as contact closures, temperature, humidity, analog, SNMP trap capturing,
and much more. Make a note in the Product Selection Wizard below if you think
you need Advanced Alarm Monitoring Features. (back to top)
Pass-Through Access to Admin Port
In addition
to CDR data collection, Asentria products offer the capability to make a
'pass-through' connection with devices connected directly to the Asentria serial
ports, typically to provide access to the PBX admin port for PBX programming. (back to top)
