Your business may not need to purchase a full SNMP software management program if all you want to do is receive alarm notifications. If you are using Asentria products which have an Ethernet interface you can also use our free alarm management software that receives SNMP traps from all Asentria SNMP-based products. AlarmManager 2.00 provides some basic but very useful features to capturing and displaying SNMP Trap alarm information from Asentria products.

You can organize your alarm sites by creating folders and site names within these folders. Incoming alarms are correlated to each site using the Site ID of each remote unit. If a trap is received from a site which is not currently in the database, then a new site will be created under the Unrecognized Sites folder. Each site has an information screen that allows you to specify contact information, as well as set up email addresses to forward alarms to and/or command line actions so that you can play a wave file or pass the alarm information to another application.
AlarmManager software displays alarms at your PC with a pop-up window that activates when you receive an SNMP Trap, an alarm notification from an Asentria product. The software typically runs minimized in your system tray.
AlarmManager allows you to view open and/or closed alarms for individual sites, all alarms under a given folder, or all alarms for the whole enterprise, depending on what node you select in the site tree window.
AlarmManager stores its setup and alarm information in an Access database that contain all the relevant information the site and alarm including type of event, date and time, Site or Device ID (user-defined), serial text alarm string (for data alarms) and other variables for custom alarms.
AlarmManager is compatible with Windows 98 or newer systems, as well as Windows NT.
